Project Access Leader Honored

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 00, 2012 – Project Access CEO & President, Kristin Byrnes will be recognized on April 21 by Women Helping Women/Men2Work, a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive employment support services to empower disadvantaged men, women and teens in reaching economic self- sufficiency, as one of its Women Helping Women Employment Leaders.

She was also recently honored with a Woman Making a Difference Award from State Senator Lou Correa (D-Orange County).

“We view these awards as a reflection of the significant contributions that Krisin has made on behalf of thousands of low-income individuals,” said Jonathan Webb, Project Access founder and chairman of the board, and president of Affordable Housing Access, Inc.

“The impact Kristin's leadership makes is critical and has enabled Project Access to serve over 10,000 families, children and seniors statewide, including 6,300 in Orange County,” he said.

Kristin was appointed CEO and president in 2010 after serving as executive vice president of Resident Services. In this capacity, she developed the Project Access service initiatives and prepared the organization for growth. Under Kristin’s direction during the last eight years, Project Access has grown from a staff of nine to over 40 and has expanded operations from eight centers in southern California to 37 centers in three regions statewide.

Kristin has more than 20 years’ experience working in the nonprofit sector in areas that include leadership, strategic planning, program development, business development, and organizational development. Prior to joining Project Access, Kristin held various leadership positions at Mercy Behavioral Health over a period of 10 years and most recently managed operations of the Case Management Program.
