Project Access Announces First Quarter of Grant Funding
ORANGE, Calif., May 24, 2017 – Project Access today announced the grant awards received in the first quarter of the 2017 fiscal year. The organization received grants to fund its resident services within low-income housing communities through both new and continued partnerships.
“Project Access is deeply grateful to our funding partners, who are the backbone of our organization,” said Kathy McCarrell, President and CEO of Project Access. “We could not continue to meet the growing needs of our residents without support from our grant funders.”
Project Access is pleased to continue a funding partnership with the Mazda Foundation, who has supported the organization since 2006. Additionally, Project Access is continuing strong partnerships with the following organizations to provide after-school programming to our high-need children in Orange County:
Mazda Foundation ($15,000)
Umpqua Bank Community Grant ($4,500)
O.L. Halsell Foundation ($15,000)
Pacific Life Foundation ($12,500)
Angels Baseball Foundation ($4,000)
The City of Mission Viejo Community Services Fund selected Project Access as a grant recipient, and awarded a $4,000 grant to Project Access’ Family Resource Center at Arroyo Vista Apartments for the “Pathways out of Poverty” core program.
In early 2017, Project Access was nominated as a finalist in the Yelp Foundation’s Give Local grant contest and received a $3,000 grant for general operating support.
Project Access also received grant awards to support programming in Denver and the Silicon Valley region. Project Access received $2,500 from the Karl E Eitel/El Pomar Foundation and $5,000 from Bank of America (San Jose).
Project Access also received generous support for computers, technology and financial education services. Project Access received $8,500 from Affordable Housing Access and $10,000 from Sunwest Bank. Additionally, Project Access received an in-kind donation of laptops from Steadfast Companies.
The exceptional generosity of grant funders allows Project Access to meet the needs of over 14,000 high-need children, families, and seniors each year. For more information, visit www.project-access.org.
