NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., October 1, 2015 – Mirroring the growth of nonprofit Project Access over the last decade in the Western United States, the organization’s recent 10th Annual Keys to Success Gala and fundraiser was aptly titled “Start Small Dream Big.”
The title appropriately also voices one of the organization’s core messages to children and adults using its Resource Centers that they, too, can start small, but dream big and become successful.
The James Bond movie-themed event earned more than $288,000 to help support the nonprofit’s over 60 Family and Senior Resource Centers helping nearly 12,000 residents of California, Colorado and Arizona improve their lives through education, employment, wellness and financial capability, among other programs.
Highlights of the gala, which was held Saturday, September 19 at the Samueli Theater in Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts, included James Bond-style cocktails, a cigar station, costumed Bond girls, raffles, a silent and live auction, a photo booth, and a magician.
Project Access Founder and Chairman of the Board Jonathan B. Webb, President of Affordable Housing Access, Inc., introduced new Project Access CEO and President Kathy McCarrell, and acknowledged the organization’s former leader, Kristin Byrnes.
This year’s Keys to Success Award honoree was Danuel Stanger, Chief Asset Officer, Bridge Investment Group Holdings, LLC, who was introduced to the audience via an entertaining video, before receiving the honor from Webb.
Stanger is a real estate and finance expert with more than 30 years of direct real estate investment and banking experience. He has been directly responsible for investing in more than $3 billion in real estate assets, including investments with a specific emphasis in multi-family, commercial office, senior housing, hotel and resort properties.
He has been a member of many community organizations, including serving on the Board of Neighborhood Housing Services of Utah (Neighborworks), and continuing to work with this premier organization for over 25 years. He was one of the Founding Board Members of the Utah Community Reinvestment Corporation, an organization established by the Utah Banking community to invest funds in residential and commercial real estate opportunities throughout Utah.
For several years, Stanger led both the Government Affairs Committees and PACs for both the Salt Lake Board and Utah Association of Realtors. Dan also served on the National Governmental Affairs Committee for CCIM. He currently serves as the Chair of the River District Business Alliance, an organization based in Dan’s childhood neighborhood, and currently working through a major redevelopment transition.
As one of the senior partners with direct oversight of property management at Santa Ana’s Warwick Square, one of Project Access’s first Resource Centers, he has experienced and recognized the tremendous benefits that Project Access brings to its communities.
During the event, a former Project Access resident delivered an impactful testimonial about how the organization made an impact on her family’s life.
Affordable Housing Access was the event’s title key sponsor, with a premier key sponsorship coming from KDF Communities, LLC.
