Chris Garcia Joins Project Access Board of Directors

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 11, 2016 – Chris Garcia, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) associate vice president for Banc of California, has been named to the Board of Directors of nonprofit Project Access of Newport Beach.
He is responsible for collecting and presenting CRA data, as well as tracking service hours and donations provided to community development organizations. He is also responsible for the coordination of community development events and developing the bank’s financial literacy program. He has helped the bank to achieve an outstanding CRA rating.
He previously worked at Bank of America, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and IndyMac Bank. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton.
Garcia has been involved with Project Access since 2014 and was instrumental in the bank’s adoption of the Hermosa Village family resource center in Anaheim. He has personally made financial literacy presentations to youth and teens at Hermosa Village and Vista Angelina Apartments in Los Angeles.

Project Access operates 60 Family Resources Centers located within affordable housing complexes in California, Colorado and Arizona which provide high-quality after school programing, education assistance, wellness education and financial capacity building. Project Access programs serves over 13,000 low-income children, youth and seniors each year.
